It’s got an epic word count (almost 200,000 words: you’re looking at two books for the price of one here) but is not a traditional epic fantasy. It’s a stand-alone speculative fiction novel with an underpinning of humour, romance and action, exploring the bonds of friendship and family and the constraints of loyalty.
